Shrinking

How to form metal parts by reducing the length of the edge.

Shaping sheet metal and bending of profile sections by precisely controlled shrinking of the area worked on. Removing wrinkles likewise.

Eckold Shrinking Tools are available for sheet thicknesses from 0,5 to 6,0 mm and with diameters from 40 mm to 130 mm.The four tool jaws grab the material inserted and push it together with each stroke applied. This shortens the area worked on and causes the workpiece to bend. A large number of strokes applied with moderate pressure ensure the best possible forming result.
