ECKOLD manufacturing offers the entire process chain
Thanks to our accumulated experience, the infrastructure available in-house and our proven supplier network for external operations, we can supply you with components ready for installation.
We deliver just in time or from stock according to your requirements.
With our ERP system, we guarantee seamless traceability for all process steps, including measurement and test reports.
We have been ISO 9001 certified since 1995. Sustainability is important to us.
As a special feature, we offer a comprehensive service for iron castings.
This covers the entire process chain from procurement of the casting, painting/priming, machining to component cleaning with cavity testing and verification of technical cleanliness and final packaging.

Procure
We advise you on production-optimized product design and procure the required materials. For iron casting we work together with: - Giesserei Chur AG, - Benninger Guss AG Uzwil

Varnishing
In our wet paint booth, we process 1K/2K paints, which can then be dried in a heated chamber. We have experience with high-temperature paints such as Wetterwart Silico Therm 650P.

Turning
We use DMG MORI CTX gamma machines with main and counter spindles, milling heads and turrets for turnmill machining.

Milling
On our DMG MORI DMC 80 with rotary pallet storage we manufacture different workpieces in parallel, even unmanned. The integrated 0-point clamping system enables very short changeover times.

Manual deburring
Despite fully developed part programming, there are edges between the machined and raw surfaces of cast iron workpieces that need to be deburred manually. Our skilled mechanics carry out this work skillfully during non-productive times.

Surface grinding
We can grind your workpieces to size and the required surface roughness on our OKUMOTO surface grinding machine.

External operations
We can't do everything ourselves. We rely on our proven partner network for heat treatment, surface finishing and cylindrical grinding work.

Measuring
In the air-conditioned measuring room, we monitor the production quality on the 3D coordinate measuring machine and document it according to your requirements. Our employees are trained in GPS measurement and understand the specifications and implementation.

Pressure test
In order to ensure the compressive strength and tightness of machined cast iron workpieces, the workpiece can be pressurized with water if necessary and the compressive strength documented.

Washing
Using the spray arm washing machine with separate washing and rinsing bath, we clean cast iron components at approx. 62°C with a washing/anti-corrosion emulsion. In the case of very heavy soiling, the components are cleaned mechanically beforehand.

Cavity testing
The inside edges of mechanically machined workpieces and intersecting bores must be monitored. In the case of iron castings, sand residues may remain in cavities or casting webs may be poorly formed.

Particle analysis
Cleaned workpieces are rinsed and the rinsing liquid is collected in a filter. The particle type/number/size is recorded and evaluated under an automatic microscope. Different requirements apply depending on the specifications.

Assembly
Thanks to the assembly of our ECKOLD forming machines, we have a suitable infrastructure and expertise in the completion of individual components into a functioning assembly.

Packing
High-quality parts should reach the customer undamaged. We use intermediate layers to prevent scratches and edge damage. We weld cast iron parts into VCI bags or wrap them in VCI paper. On request, we can label the components according to customer specifications.

Store
We have the capacity to store blanks and finished workpieces in our warehouse and ship them worldwide if required. The stock levels are ERP monitored.
