Question:
Can I use a PFW tool (curving tool) to shape a hemisphere?
Answer:
Unfortunately not. Additional tools are required to form a hemisphere.

Question:
What materials can be formed using Eckold machines and equipment?
Answer:
Ferrous and non-ferrous materials and their alloys, such as aluminium, copper and brass.
Even higher-strength materials (e.g. titanium) can be processed using the ECKOLD Kraftformer under certain conditions. This is particularly suitable for shape corrections on profiles or, where applicable, pressed components, and/or for stress relief. Complete shape formation is possible on profiles with long forming curves and under certain conditions (profile design, flange length, material thickness, etc.). ECKOLD Kraftformers are not suitable for the production of complex (3D) components made from titanium or higher-strength materials. To protect the surface of the components and to avoid machining marks, ECKOLD tools with synthetic inserts are preferably used. Machining titanium or higher-strength materials causes increased wear on the tools. As a general rule, definitive statements regarding the machining of titanium or higher-strength materials can usually only be made following forming trials.
